Kath Kenny

Kath is an essayist, arts reviewer and researcher. Her book Staging a Revolution (2022 Upswell Publishing) won the History Publication Award at the 2023 Victorian Community History Awards, was long-listed for the Mark and Evette Moran Nib Literary Award and listed as one of the ‘Best reads of 2022’ by the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age. Her writing has appeared in the Sydney Morning Herald, Meanjin, The Monthly, The Saturday Paper, The Guardian and numerous other publications and anthologies.

She is co-president of the Sydney Writers’ Room, and in 2024 she was one of the inaugural recipients of the Whitlam Essay Residency (Varuna and the Whitlam Institute).
