Deal news! Really delighted to announce the sale of @kathkenny_ ‘s “Staging a Revolution: When Betty Rocked the Pram” to @terriannwhite! It’s a story that begins with the staging of “Betty Can Jump” in the early 70’s, a play that set up the groundswell for a whole movement in Oz women’s social as well as cultural liberation (Helen Garner being just one of many who rode on the wave, with her own creative work commencing not long afterwards). Finally, 2022 will be the 50th anniversary of the play’s premiere at Melbourne’s Pram Factory - thus making it an ideal moment to look back on this seminal - & hitherto largely overlooked - cultural moment. Hearty congrats to Kath!!
