The Rose Scott Women Writers’ Festival Voicing Narratives panel

I was lucky to join the incredible writer, Yuraalaraay woman Nardi Simpson, on a panel at the Rose Scott Women Writers’ Festival hosted by Augusta Supple on Saturday, September 17. Nardi’s Song of the Crocodile is the most beautifully written and powerful story of love and water and family and things that are stolen and things that can never be stolen. We talked about stories, family, collectives and the circular, cyclical nature of narrative. Nardi, a member of the band Stiff Gins as well as the UTS New Writer in Residence this year, is (quite literally) a rockstar.
